第46集
岁尾，刘备苦于自己没有栖身之地而悄然落泪。张飞建议发兵去取南郡荆州。诸葛亮谋划了借东吴之力夺取南郡的计策。东吴大营，孙权正在大宴三军将领，突然传来刘备领兵进驻油江口的消息。周瑜极为不安，骂斥刘备居心叵测。周瑜决定一方面派大军兼程西进，直趋南郡，一方面亲自往油江口刘备大营探听虚实。刘备大营中，周瑜始终没有看到攻城用的云梯等物，于是他做出了荆州“定有刘备内应”的判断。刘备大营里，周瑜与刘备唇枪舌战，诸葛亮趁机激周瑜，周瑜气氛表示：我若取不得，任公自取！周瑜在南郡战况进展顺利，诸葛亮却判断这是曹仁的骄兵之计，周瑜将败。

Zhou Yu and Zhuge Liang are both pretty good at ruses and deceptions, but what ultimately sets Zhuge Liang apart is his ability to get inside his opponent's head and think like they think. Zhou Yu tries to do this towards the end of his life, but too little too late. Zhou Yu is too prideful, whereas Zhuge Liang can always think obxtively and not let his emotions (if he has any) get the best of him.

It must be so tiring being a commander/politician back then when you have to constantly try to discern the truth from tricks and tricks from truth... Just watching this makes my head ache lol.

This movie that was a great novel is about tactics and strategy. I believe that’s zhuge liang was one of the best in his time. Lie bei portrays the most benevolent of all the rulers of his time.

Zhou Yu is intelligent, but he need 100 years to try to out-think Zhuge Liang. Besides that, he keeps forgetting that Zhuge Liang can read his mind.
周瑜很聪明，但他也需要100年的时间才能超过诸葛亮。除此之外，他一直忘记诸葛亮会读心术。
He simply died of an undiagnosed illness in real life while traveling on campaign. His jealousy towards Zhuge Liang was also fictional to give the story more flavor. I think that the author didn’t seem to like Zhou Yu very much, especially in how he wrote him and attributed most of the real Zhou Yu’s achievements to somehow being apart of Zhuge Liang’s master plans that Kongming never actually had. However, the real Zhou Yu did write a letter to Sun Quan warning him not to trust Liu Bei and he was ultimately right about that.
在现实中，周瑜只是在出征途中死于一种未确诊的疾病。他对诸葛亮的嫉妒也是虚构的，只是为了让故事更有味道。我认为作者似乎不太喜欢周瑜，尤其是在他写周瑜的时候，他把周瑜的大部分成就都归功于诸葛亮的总体规划，而孔明实际上没有做过这些事。然而，真正的周瑜确实给孙权写了一封信，警告他不要相信刘备，周瑜最终是对的。

第47集
果然，不久传来消息，曹仁设计诈败，将东吴军诱入南郡城中，在瓮城里将周瑜射成重伤，东吴军大败。周瑜经不起曹仁的骂阵，竟然箭伤复发而死！诸葛亮作出了周瑜诈死的判断，认定曹军必然中计。他让刘备派一只轻骑日夜兼程开往南郡，只等曹仁出城趁虚拿下南郡和荆州。周瑜击败曹仁后追到南郡城下，却发现南郡已被关羽袭取。周瑜痛叫一声，跌下马来，他发誓要夺取荆州，以雪平生最大的耻辱。刘备在荆州寝食难安，认为东吴大军必会报复。诸葛亮为他详细分析了局势，认为荆州属刘备是孙曹二人最好的选择。曹仁兵败的消息传来，曹操不但没有责备反而赞赏有加。他认为荆州可为诱饵，孙刘两家争夺必然两败俱伤。而东吴这边，鲁肃也认为刘备占据荆州可以牵制曹操，对东吴有利。而孙权却无奈于周瑜的意气之争，并拒绝了鲁肃收夺周瑜兵符的建议。

This is the pivotal part of the story. Jing is the first proper foothold of Liu Bei and from there he expand westward to what came to be Shu, and thus the birth of the third major power.

Its so strange how when Liu Biao offers jing province to him several times liu bei says he doesnt want it. Here on the other hand Zhou Yu's army fights hard for it and loses so many troops but liu bei snatches the province at the last minute... and thats fine with his conscience？ Liu Bei's compassionate nature (which was very much evident earlier in the series) now looks completely hypocritical.

Up until this episode, I had always considered Liu Bei's character to be somewhat underwhelming (for example compared to the amazing performance by Cao Cao). That changed big time for me at 39:00

邢道荣果然中了诸葛亮的埋伏，张飞擒得刘贤，大胜而归。刘度爱子心切，于翌日开城请降。刘备依然恳请刘度任零陵太守，刘度大为感动。刘军帐内，赵云领命率军攻取桂阳。桂阳城下，守军大将陈应出城迎战。赵云用青釭剑连胜，最终将陈应击于马下。赵云将陈应放生回营，陈应对赵云大为赞叹，并劝太守赵范归降刘备。赵范无奈，同意开城投降。赵范听信谋士鲍龙计策，将赵云灌醉，并请求赵云与其一同归降曹操。赵云在陈应的配合下，重新夺取了桂阳城。关羽从荆州赶来，请命攻取长沙。孔明用激将法关羽斗志激起，认为关羽此役必定大获全胜。

People usually say the actor playing cao cao is the best(to me aswell), Liu bei, Zhuge liang is mentioned aswell among the best. I though think that the actor who is playing Zhang Fei is among the best aswell. He is both playing "funny Zhang Fei", "drunk Zhang Fei", "angry & ruthless Zhang Fei" etc. so good.
To me, he is Zhang Fei.

关羽兵临长沙，与黄忠等人交战。关羽用计将黄忠砍于马下，却将他大义放生。长沙太守韩玄不屑于黄忠的失败，听信谗言，认为关羽黄忠二人定有密谋之事。关黄二人翌日再战，黄忠再次战败，被韩玄推出斩首。危急之下，黄忠被魏延救下，并劝说黄忠与其一同效忠刘备，却被黄忠严词拒绝。长沙被刘军占领，刘备亲自拜访黄忠，黄忠感慨于刘备的忠义，决定为其效力。刘备帐中，孔明欲杀魏延，但被刘备劝下，孔明严词警告魏延不得起二心。刘琦死讯传来，刘备立刻返回吊丧。刘备担忧于荆州的所属，孔明决定主动向东吴发丧，欲令周瑜不敢冒然侵犯荆州。太史慈坟前，孙权感慨自己合肥大败，情绪低落。鲁肃告之刘琦死讯，孙权大喜，认为这是所要荆州的绝佳时机。

Cao Cao on the other hand wouldnt have done that instead he would have not admit that he was wrong, so that it wouldnt affect their morale and thought. That is a good example between a strong lord and a weak lord.
